    My Books

A Monumental Journey: 8 Years Capturing the Soul of Bada Imambara.

For the past eight years, immersed myself in the grandeur of one of Lucknow’s most iconic structures Bada Imambara. Through the lens of my camera, I’ve sought to capture not just its towering arches and intricate details, but the soul that resides within its walls.

This book is a culmination of that journey, divided into eight chapters, each representing an art exhibition that I have held over the years. Every image tells a story of time, heritage, and the delicate beauty of Bada Imambara’s architecture. It’s a journey through light, shadow, and structure a reflection of my deep connection with this magnificent monument.

I invite you to explore this timeless marvel with me, as seen through my eyes, with images that I believe reveal the very of its spirit.

Chicken From My Kitchen: The Indian Way

In the book, Pankaj explores endless ways of cooking the ‘hero’ chicken, in kitchens across the country. The book includes recipes like ‘Trami Murg Kokur’ from Kashmir to ‘Chicken Moily’ from Kerala; ‘Murg ka Soola’ from Rajasthan to ‘Murg Jhol’ from Bengal. Of course, the ever popular tikkas, makhani and biryani also find mention in the book along with the more delicately flavoured ‘Lagaan ka Murg’ and ‘Murg Wajid Ali’.

The book has a number of starters, main course dishes and accompaniments for chicken lovers and some unusual recipes like the Cambridge University approved ‘Chicken no Butter Masala’ – a healthier version of ‘Butter Chicken’ and the very Indian ‘Achari Chicken Wings’!

Lucknow : The City of Heritage & Culture

Lucknow is known as a city of dreams and 160 years after the elegant court of Nawab Wajid Ali Shah, there are almost as many different ways of interpreting it, as there were dreamers. Splendid buildings in brick that have witnessed centuries of history, the chime of temple bells, the call of the muezzin, the magical strains of thumri, the soulful lyrics of ghazals, the expressive grace of Kathak dance, the exquisite crafts, the delicate flavours of cuisine—all these are part of the fascinating city of Lucknow. The famed nazaakat and nafaasat, go hand-in-hand with the marvellous buildings in Indo-Saracenic style. Lucknow: The City of Heritage and Culture takes us on many journeys through a bygone era, exploring the passions and aesthetics of the people of Awadh. It features over 100 colour photographs and minute architectural drawings that recreate the splendour of Lucknow’s historic monuments. Photographs by Ajaish Jaiswal.
